Were a lot of political ads back then songs? You would NEVER see that nowadays. It's a lot like the Ike ad - it has a catchy tune that gets stuck in your head even though you don't want it to be. I wonder when the last song-ad was...
And I find it interesting how one of the very few specific things mentioned was his overseas trip to China. This is proof that going to China, like everything else, was part of his "continuous campaign" because they seemed to really use it in his reelection advertisements.
